Recombinant Glu-C from Yinjia Bio is recombinantly expressed in Escherichia coli.
It specifically hydrolyzes peptide bonds at the carboxyl terminus of glutamic acid (Glu) or aspartic acid (Asp) residues. Its specificity is directly affected by buffer components:
l In 50 mM NH₄HCO₃ buffer (pH 7.8) and 50 mM CH₃COONH₄ buffer (pH 4.0), it recognizes and cleaves peptide bonds at the carboxyl terminus of Glu.
l In phosphate buffer (pH 7.8), it recognizes and cleaves peptide bonds at the carboxyl terminus of Glu or Asp, with a higher hydrolysis rate for Glu than for Asp.
It is active over a pH range of 4.0–9.0. It can be used alone or in combination with other specific proteases for protein digestion.
