Yinjia (Shanghai) Biosciences (“Yinjia Bio”) recently closed its Series A financing round worth nearly RMB 100 million. The round was led by CMB International, with participation from Suzhou Xinhe Guoqing Fund.
Since its establishment two years ago, the company has raised three funding rounds totaling hundreds of millions of RMB, with investors including CDH Investments, Gaorong Ventures, and Fornova Investment.

The newly raised capital will fully support the company’s overseas expansion and deepen collaborations with global enterprises. Beyond consolidating its proprietary protein screening platform, Yinjia Bio will scale up its capabilities in microbial genetic engineering and protein engineering, and speed up the development of an innovative synthetic biology technology platform, bringing new momentum and solutions for the development of diverse novel high-end proteins.
Over the two years since its founding, Yinjia Bio has focused on high-barrier core protein raw materials, while actively developing companion diagnostic products for emerging innovative therapies. To date, the firm has developed over 50 types of high-end proteins applied across cutting-edge booming sectors: cell therapy, mRNA vaccines and circular RNA, novel drug research, molecular diagnostics, and companion diagnostics for oncology drugs.
Several of these proteins are the first of their kind developed domestically, including calcineurin (PP2B), adenosyltransferases, specialized proteins for non-viral vectors in cell therapy, and novel antibodies for liver and gastric cancer companion diagnostics.
A lineup of raw materials matching imported benchmarks—such as sequencing-grade recombinant trypsin, diagnostic quality control standards, and protein cytokines—have won wide recognition from clients.

Since its inception, Yinjia Bio has prioritized external partnerships to build a collaborative industrial ecosystem. In the past year alone, it has established R&D cooperation with more than 30 world-leading life science enterprises and research institutions, including the Institute of Immunology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai CanSino Biologics, Zhiyu Bioscience, and Quanxin Quanyi, accelerating the commercialization of a pipeline of innovative products with higher efficiency.
Dr. Wu Yifei, Founder and CEO of Yinjia Bio, commented:
“2022 was a challenging year amid a capital winter. We are deeply grateful for the recognition and trust from CMB International and Xinhe Guoqing Fund. Yinjia Bio stays true to our original aspiration and our mission to become a ‘protein craftsman’ serving global life science and related industries. We will keep developing high-end protein raw materials that rival top international brands—featuring high quality, low replicability, exceptional stability and cost competitiveness—to fuel rapid industrial growth.
We fully recognize that the R&D and manufacturing of core raw materials involve multiple disciplines, complex workflows, high technical barriers, and extensive product portfolios. As an intersection of interdisciplinary research and a source of technological innovation, this field calls for broader collaboration and joint efforts across the full industrial chain.
The successful completion of this new financing round will enable us to expand the depth and breadth of our integrated protein platform and advance faster and more steadily in building our synthetic biology infrastructure. Moving forward, Yinjia Bio will continuously boost the efficiency of developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for a broad spectrum of high-end proteins to meet large-scale industrial demands.”
